This is a reprint of a newspaper article we ran across one day. It describes very accurately the way a lot of people are feeling about change in their lives today. It says,

“Today, change seems like the only constant in most people’s lives. Daily life seems to have become more dangerous and threatening and the world we live in has become more complicated and frantic. Expectations are higher and results are expected faster. We try to keep up, but just keeping up seems to take more of our time, our energy and our effort. Business and science race ahead at breakneck speed, heaping new discoveries on us so quickly that we stagger under the sheer weight of the volume. The one certainty we can count on is that the pressure to do more in less time will only increase in the years ahead.”

The really fascinating thing about this article is that it appeared in the Atlantic Journal in July – 1837.
